▼ Club | Where we come from

Presentation Rugby Football Club is an amateur rugby union team in the neighbourhood of the famous rugby grounds " Thomond Park " on the banks of the river Shannon that flows through Limerick City, Ireland. Originally players were from the old St Michael's inner city parish . From streets like Sexton Street with its local landmark schools of Christain Brothers School (CBS) and Presentation, criss crossing the area to include; Mulgrave St., Watergate, Robert St., William St., Punches Row, Broad St., Pillar Lane, Foxes Bow, Ellen St., Cornmarket Row and Denmark St., to mention a few. After reforming in the locality beside St. Michael's Church in Seven Stars Bar known today as Angle Lane, members now come from both the Northside & Southside of Limerick City and District to play at Rathuard.

Full Text:

Presentation RFC is a club with a long and honourable tradition of rugby in Limerick. It was founded in 1917. In the present time, the Club has widened its horizons and has become an integral part of the sporting and community life of the City by creating playing opportunities for all members of the community of both sexes and all races.

The Club recognises that rugby is a sport which can be played and enjoyed at many different levels of skill. The Club aims to enable all those who wish to play rugby to do so while providing a safe environment where players can play at the level to which their ability and desire takes them. Success on the field is measured not just by results and honours but by the enjoyment of the players. The Club believes that rugby can enhance and strengthen individuals and enables players to desire and strive not only for success on the rugby pitch, but as a team, and as individuals in all aspects and walks of life.

The Club’s objective is to enable all its players to perform at the highest standards they can attain, to enhance the work life balance and to actively promote social inclusion. We strive for excellence by providing facilities and coaching to the highest possible standards and encourage all who participate to enjoy the sport of rugby whether by playing or watching.
